The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. Switching to heating systems that use eligible energy sources can help the UK reduce its carbon emissions and meet its renewable energy targets.

The Government originally announced that the non-domestic RHI scheme would close for new applicants from April 2021, however, the RHI for households and organisations has been extended to March 2022.

The RHI scheme could give you quarterly payments for seven years if you install, or have already installed, renewable technology to heat your home.

To be eligible for the RHI it has to have been installed within the last 12 months. That means no more than 12 months between the date of installation on that certificate, and the date on your application

The RHI is a government scheme that's intended to help meet the UK’s legally binding target of reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
