COMMERCIAL PLANT ROOM

Ground Source Heat Pump

Large commercial premises will have seen large increases in their energy bills over the last 10 years. As the UK’s electricity grid continues to decarbonise and move towards the global objective of reducing CO2 emissions, how we heat our business and manufacturing facilities will undergo a huge transformation.

Your business - and its commercial premises – has a great opportunity to be ahead of the curve with both economic and environmental benefits. Commercial Heat Pumps help address current climate change and assist you in lowering your carbon footprint.

2020 has been an economically challenging year for the vast majority of businesses with the outbreak of Covid19, and it is likely that the UK economy will take some years to recover. Energy bills have become an increasingly large % of a business’s running costs, so surely taking an opportunity to reduce these by up to 40% should be an attractive proposition for the management team.

Heat pumps also come with the added benefit that they can be configured to satisfy the cooling requirements of business as well as the heat requirements simultaneously – a real win win combination in a large commercial premises where having the correct temperature for employees (and stock) is crucial.

Further good news is that commercial ground source heat pumps are eligible for the governments Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme so your company can apply for funding over a 7-year period from installation of the heat pump(s).

Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF)

On the 20th July 2020, the Government launched phase 1 of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) which is designed to help businesses with high energy use to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions through investing in low carbon technology.

Phase 1 is now open with £30m of available funding, followed by phase 2 in 2021, with £285 funding. Businesses are encouraged to apply as soon as possible while funding is still available for both phases

Commercial Ground Source Heat Pumps fit into these criteria as they omit zero emission and are very energy efficient.
